licensing information and fees

code blue is currently only available for a screening license. Digital and home-use licensing will be available later in 2019.

For a screening license, there is a choice of receiving a DVD, Blu-Ray or DCP.  You will need to check with your screening location and inquire what type of screener is required. A DCP is used in theater screenings, and it will arrive on a hard drive that must be  returned after use.

 There are 4 types of basic licensing:

  • High schools/ public libraries/ community health leaders: This license permits librarians, teachers, students, school administrators and health educators to screen the film at one location multiple times for the life of the media.  
    BASIC LICENSE FEE: $95 DVD, $125 Blu-ray

  • Colleges/ Universities: This license permits higher academic institutions, including private and public Colleges/ Universities to screen the film in one location multiple times for the life of the media.
    BASIC LICENSE FEE: $295 DVD, $345 Blu-ray

  •  Non-profit organizations: This license permits non-profit groups to screen the film to an audience at one location multiple times for the life of the media.
    BASIC LICENSE FEE: $295 DVD, $345 Blu-ray

  • Business: This license permits to screen the film to an audience at one location multiple times for the life of the media.
    BASIC LICENSE FEE: $395 DVD, $445 Blu-ray

  • DCP format: all organization types:, basic license fee is $650

ADDITIONAL FEES:

  • If admission is charged, add $100 to basic fee

  • If the film is screened at more than one location, add $100 per additional location (please note, the basic fee allows unlimited screenings at the same location for the life of the media)

  • If the audience size is expected to exceed 250 people, add $50
